How these budget plans differ

Greninja applies pressure through its Bench-damage role. The list uses the full Froakie / Frogadier / Greninja line, so evolution consistency matters. It contains no ex Pokémon and no claimed tournament win rate.

Butterfree uses a Caterpie evolution line with Igglybuff and Psychic Energy. Its sleep plan depends on coin outcomes, while setup consumes seven Pokémon slots. PokeHub published this in the B4 period, before Dual Fusion.

Ninetales / Blaine is the Fire alternative. It includes Vulpix, Ninetales, Ponyta and Rapidash at two copies each, two Blaine, and movement from X Speed. It has no ex or Mega ex; card ownership still determines whether it is inexpensive for a particular collection. Read the exact Fire printings and QR source.

Choosing a first build

Compare your owned cards with all 20 slots before spending pack resources. A no-ex list avoids ex-rarity attackers, but it does not make every Trainer immediately available. Use the card catalog to identify packs and the expansion index to distinguish original printings from reprints.

Matchup note (editorial): these one-point Pokémon reduce the points conceded by a single knockout compared with an ex attacker. Their setup requirements, HP and damage still matter. The public lists do not establish current matchup win rates, so none are assigned here.
